Tidbits – Wind turbine tax credits & Hotel Terra

January 5, 2009 · 1 Comment

Unlike many blogs that post quick snippets of breaking news, we’ve tried to build 1GreenProduct.com around more thoughtful, in-depth reviews.

But sometimes we also get nuggets of information that we’d like to share more spontaneously. That’s why this year we’re introducing a new type of occasional post called Tidbits to fill you in on interesting information that comes across our desk. For example:

  • The Hotel Terra in Jackson Hole, Wyoming can claim numerous eco-friendly attributes from its recycled roof to its low-VOC carpets and paints. We’re impressed with the list of water-saving features including dual-flush toilets in the rooms, waterless urinals in the public men’s restrooms, low-flow faucets and native landscaping that needs no irrigation. Expect organic sheets and towels in the rooms, organic products in the Chill Spa, CFL bulbs throughout the hotel and much more. Behind the scenes, Hotel Terra says it’s composting food waste and offsetting all its energy use through the purchase of alternative energy.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this first batch of Tidbits. We’ll return on Thursday to our usual in-depth product review, but look for more Tidbits posts in the months ahead!

Great blog and many thanks for featuring Hotel Terra Jackson Hole. We are very proud of our LEED Certified hotel and hope that our daily sustainable practices will catch on and eventually become the norm in the travel industry. Come support eco-consciousness and stay at our hotel. In the meantime, check out our blog-dedicated to living well in and outside of beautiful Jackson Hole!
